Chasm: Night Vision EP, Out 16.05.2014

Chasm’s final release from his four part EP series comes in the form of Night Vision. This time, Chasm has teamed up with UK rap legend Blak Twang for the EP’s entirety.

After working together on Chasm’s last album This Is How We Never Die, the two developed a strong collaborative bond. A short while later Blak Twang flew out to Australia to hook up with Chasm again. The result was the Night Vision EP, fresh and full of scope.

The feel of the EP travels from chilled and summery to moody and dark. Imagery is vividly brought to life by Blak Twang, the grimy streets of London materialise through his rhymes.

In lead single ‘Summer’, Chasm features Blak Twang, and Australian Kings of hip hop Ozi Batla (The Herd/Astronomy Class) and Hau (Koolism/triple j hip hop show). A chilled out track; ‘Summer’ is set alight by its warm strings and laid back beats.

As a producer, Chasm has become synonymous with the local hip hop scene, never failing to deliver innovative, quality music, and Night Vision is no exception to the rule.

“I came up listening and being inspired by Blak Twangs music. ‘So Rotton’ was an anthem for a lot of people I was around back then. So it was an honour and kind of unbelievable for me to work with the God himself. Just having him in the studio was a privilege’. – Chasm

KID SELZY: DIAL M FOR MELBOURNE, OUT 04.04.20

Almost 4 years since Melbourne underground rapper Kid Selzy released The Creepshow LP he now returns with the highly anticipated follow up album Dial M for Melbourne.

Themes range from stories of St. Kilda locals, to the effects anti-depressants and being homeless. There are also songs about everyday life and how Kid Selzy views the world. Listening to the vivid images he paints with words the audience is able to see the world though his perspective.

The Dial M for Melbourne LP release has only two collab tracks as Selzy wanted people to buy the album for artist, not the guests appearing on it. GargoyleGutz Illuminate feature on a banging posse cut and Hospa the Horrible drops a verse about a binge. The rest of the album is a personal journey into Selzy‘s life and thought processes.

Production for the album is handled by EndemicTorntsIllumiateBonezy 2 BladezWikPaddy-OKid Selzy and more.
Dial M for Melbourne will be released on April 4th through Selzy‘s independent label Frank Castle Entertainment co-owned by a.DD with distribution handled by Obese Records.
