KID SELZY: DIAL M FOR MELBOURNE, OUT 04.04.20

Almost 4 years since Melbourne underground rapper Kid Selzy released The Creepshow LP he now returns with the highly anticipated follow up album Dial M for Melbourne.

Themes range from stories of St. Kilda locals, to the effects anti-depressants and being homeless. There are also songs about everyday life and how Kid Selzy views the world. Listening to the vivid images he paints with words the audience is able to see the world though his perspective.

The Dial M for Melbourne LP release has only two collab tracks as Selzy wanted people to buy the album for artist, not the guests appearing on it. Gargoyle, Gutz & Illuminate feature on a banging posse cut and Hospa the Horrible drops a verse about a binge. The rest of the album is a personal journey into Selzy‘s life and thought processes.

Production for the album is handled by Endemic, Tornts, Illumiate, Bonezy 2 Bladez, Wik, Paddy-O, Kid Selzy and more.
Dial M for Melbourne will be released on April 4th through Selzy‘s independent label Frank Castle Entertainment co-owned by a.DD with distribution handled by Obese Records.

Brisbane based emcee Prophet Rayza returns with his long awaited debut LP Year Of The Rayza out nation-wide April 4th 2014. The album follows the release of Rayza‘s previous works the Six Books EP, as well as his Spits & Pieces mixtape series.

NEKTA: DEAR DIARY EP, OUT 21.03.2014

Nekta has risen from the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne. His journey began with the Street Science program run by Solomon Theta, J-Red & Son-Zu. It’s there he began to hone his skills on the mic and with a spray can. He would also connect there with future members of Window Down crew. 

Some difficult times in Nekta‘s personal life were channeled into the writing of Dear Diary, his debut solo release. It was written and recorded over a 6 month period at the Pang Productions studio. The result is a personal journey of self discovery, life lessons learned and an appreciation for hip-hop that still burns strong over 10 years later.

Nekta will be making a return to the stage for the first time in a while. Performing with partner in crime Celphysh at The Laundry Bar in Melbourne this Saturday 29th for the ESKAPISM Tour.

Known for his willingness to explore new territory, Paulie P is currently putting the finishing touches on his forthcoming debut record Until That Time which is due for release in March 2014.

Self-produced, Until That Time is a double-disc showcasing of  Paulie P’s ability to push the boundaries of the ever evolving hip hop scene.

 

Working with a seven-piece band and incorporating live drums and triggers  the record oozes funk and soul, layered with breezy dub rhythms and slick jazz undertones, adding to his fresh hip hop sound.

Rawthentic Records is a small independent label which was formed early 2012 by Melbourne emcee P.Link. In the short time since, the label’s growing roster has been represented at an international & local level throughout Australia supporting the likes of Ultra Magnetic MC’s, Trem One, Brad Strut, Funkoars, Maundz & Jake Biz, just to name a few.

In between shows the label has released 3 solo EP’s from label stalwarts – P.Link, J.Mac & DownPat. Also with spots on the Obesecity 2 & White Russian compilations. All the while enlisting fresh young talent in the form of Eazy MC, Jestar Dharma, & DJ T-Nuc.
